Subscription Notification Templates add subscription-specific Shopify notification emails to your UpOrder template builder. Use this feature if your store sells subscriptions and you want those subscription emails to match the rest of your UpOrder notification email design.

Before you enable this feature

  • Your store should already be using Shopify Subscriptions or another compatible subscription setup that creates Shopify subscription notification events.

  • This feature does not create subscription products, install Shopify Subscriptions, or turn on customer subscription management. It only adds subscription notification templates inside UpOrder.

  • Shopify still controls when subscription notification emails are sent. UpOrder controls the template design and content after you publish the template to Shopify.

  • In Shopify, subscription email notifications can be managed from Settings > Notifications under the subscription notifications section.

Enable Subscription Notification Templates in UpOrder

  1. From your UpOrder dashboard, open Feature Management.

  2. In the Features section, find Subscription Notification Templates.

  3. Turn on the toggle for Subscription Notification Templates.

  4. After the feature is enabled, open the template builder and use the notification selector at the top of the builder to choose a subscription notification template.

Your subscription templates will then be available from the notification selector at the top of the template builder.

Subscription templates available in UpOrder

When this feature is available for your store, UpOrder can support these subscription-specific notification templates:

  • New subscription order

  • Subscription Paused

  • Subscription Skipped

  • Subscription canceled

  • Subscription Expired

  • Payment failure

  • Subscription Resumed

  • Payment Failure (Retrying)

  • Payment Failure (Last Attempt)

After you customize a subscription template

  1. Save your changes in UpOrder.

  2. Publish or copy the updated subscription template to Shopify, just like your other Shopify notification templates.

  3. Confirm the matching subscription notification is active in Shopify if you expect Shopify to send it automatically.

  4. Preview and test the template. The builder preview is useful for layout, but the final live behavior depends on Shopify's subscription event and notification settings.

If you do not see the subscription templates

  • Refresh UpOrder or reopen the app from your Shopify admin after enabling the feature.

  • Confirm Subscription Notification Templates is still enabled in Feature Management.

  • Confirm your store has a compatible subscription setup and subscription notifications in Shopify.

  • Contact support if the templates still do not appear. Availability can depend on your store setup and template set.
