Product recommendations are great way to drive repeat purchase to your store!

You can do this through either the UpOrder Recommended Products or Conditional Recommendations. Please note that you will have to enable conditional recommendations per template.


UpOrder Recommended Products:

When you first installed UpOrder to your store, we automatically created a hidden collection called "UpOrder - Recommended Products". Don't worry though, this collection is completely hidden and customers will not be able to find it.

Products in the "UpOrder - Recommended Products" collection are populated automatically and dynamically, to ensure that your customer will never see a product that they have just purchased. Every 4 hours this feature is updated to pull your best selling products at that time.

Here is how to find this hidden collection in your Shopify dashboard:

1. Select "Products" from your Shopify dashboard

2. Select "Collections"

3. You will see a collection called "UpOrder - Recommended Products"

4. Click on this collection to edit or add new conditions

Adding Product Recommendations to Your Templates:

To add product recommendations to your templates, all you need to do is drag this component into your templates.

Once this is in your email template, it will be automated for you when you set the templates live onto Shopify.

Conditional Recommendations:

The conditional recommendations feature is designed for seasoned merchants who prefer more control of their recommendations.

The conditional recommendation section allows you to set rules around the products we recommend within your email notifications. If someone purchases a product from X collection, then we will recommend products from Y collection.

To enable conditional recommendations, you will need click on the "Product Recommendation" component. Once you have done so, please check off the "Conditional Recommendation" box on the right hand side.

From there, you will be able to select your X and Y collections, along with a default collection in case if your customers did not purchase from the X collection.

Don't see the collection you want? Click on "Load more collections" to pull more collections in from your store.

Please note that you will have to enable the conditional recommendation feature on each template.

To make these changes effective, make sure you set the email templates live into Shopify again!
