How product options from apps like SC Product Options, Bold Product Options, and Infinite Product Options display in UpOrder notification emails.

If you use a product options app, the options your customer selects can usually appear in your UpOrder notification emails as long as those options are saved to the Shopify order as visible line item properties.

This applies to apps such as SC Product Options by Shop Circle, Bold Product Options, Infinite Product Options by ShopPad, and other product options apps that write the customer's selections to Shopify line item properties. Shopify also refers to this data as line item properties.

How UpOrder shows product options

UpOrder's Line Items component includes the item details area that displays visible Shopify line item properties. In most templates, you do not need a separate integration, custom code, or special component for these options to show.

To keep product options visible in your emails:

  1. Keep the Line Items component in the notification template.

  2. Make sure the item details field still includes the default product-attributes content. If that field has been heavily customized or removed, product options may no longer display.

  3. Save your changes in UpOrder.

  4. Publish or copy the updated template into Shopify, depending on the publishing flow you use.

  5. Test with a real Shopify order that includes product options. Builder previews and basic sample data may not include your store's actual product option values.

What will not show

UpOrder only has access to the data Shopify provides in the notification. Product option values may not appear if:

  • The option app did not save the customer's choice to the Shopify order line item.

  • The property is blank.

  • The property is internal or hidden, such as a property name that starts with an underscore.

  • The app stores metadata in a private field instead of a customer-facing line item property.

  • The option is represented as a separate add-on product or separate line item instead of a property on the original item.

If your product options are missing

  1. Open the order in Shopify and check whether the selected options are visible on the order line item.

  2. If the options are not visible in Shopify, contact the product options app's support team or your theme developer first. UpOrder cannot display option data that Shopify does not include on the order.

  3. If the options are visible in Shopify but missing from the sent email, confirm that the template still has the Line Items component and that your latest UpOrder version has been published or copied into Shopify.

  4. If it still does not look right, contact us at [email protected] or through the in-app chat. Include the Shopify order number, the notification template, and the product options app you use.
