Can I make updates to my notification emails now that they are live?

How to safely edit live Shopify notification templates and make sure the updated version is published to Shopify.

Yes. You can update your Shopify notification emails at any time. Editing a template in UpOrder will not interrupt the emails that are currently live in Shopify.

The important thing to remember is that Shopify sends the version of the notification template that is saved in Shopify. After you make changes in UpOrder, you need to publish or copy the updated template into Shopify before customers will receive the new version.

How to update a live notification email

  1. From your Shopify admin, open the UpOrder app.

  2. Go to Notifications.

  3. Choose the notification template set you want to update, then open it in the builder.

  4. Make your changes using the builder components and template settings.

  5. Click Save to save the updated version in UpOrder.

  6. Preview the email and send yourself a test email if needed.

  7. Publish or copy the updated template into the matching Shopify notification so Shopify starts sending the new version.

If you update more than one notification email, repeat the publishing step for each Shopify notification you changed.

What happens before you republish?

Until the updated template is saved in Shopify, customers will continue receiving the previous live version. This gives you room to edit and test in UpOrder without accidentally changing live customer emails before you are ready.
