Can I add a new font type that isn't currently available in the UpOrder builder?

  • It is possible to add font types to the email builder, but we do not recommend it.

Font support for email clients (such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail etc.) are not very reliable. There are about 7 fonts that work consistently through the most commonly used email clients. Any other font will work in 10% - 50% of clients, at best. This is why we typically restrict fonts through our application.

According to Litmus, here is the list of email clients and if web fonts are supported:

The list of email clients that support web fonts represent around 50% of the total market for email opens. Gmail, one of the world's most popular email client does not support web fonts.

Because of this, we have a Fallback font set up for Gmail. Fallback font is a font style that has been selected to replace a preferred font if it is not able to be rendered on a particular device or email client. Our current Fallback font is Helvetica for Gmail.
