UpOrder is built for Shopify and specializes in your notification emails, also known as transactional emails (e-Receipts, Order, Shipping, and Account emails) whereas email service providers (ESP) such as Klaviyo, Omnisend, and Mailchimp specialize in bulk email (such as newsletters) and other email automation.
Many merchants use UpOrder alongside these tools, since ESPs don't typically support transactional emails to include marketing content or provide analytics on their performance (note: transactional emails are opened 4-5x more than typical marketing e-blasts!).
UpOrder helps merchants turn their Shopify notification emails into marketing opportunities by including branding, conditional product recommendations, personalized discounts, and referrals that drive repeat sales. Since we are so tightly integrated with Shopify, our notification emails get sent by Shopify and no duplicates are sent.
If you try to use Omnisend or MailChimp for your transactional emails, your customers may be confused after receiving duplicate emails. One from Shopify and one from the ESP. This is not an ideal customer experience.
Klaviyo only supports 10 out of 27 notification emails, and you cannot add product recommendations or unique discount codes to them to drive revenue, nor can you view analytics or insights into their performance - so it isn't available as a marketing channel.
